Actually, I'd really waited a release of this anime this year. The season two wasn't so much avant-garde compared to season one, however it's more focused on reality, or more explanatory stories there are, I think. But still it's really fun.

In the story, it depicts each character's situation comically. But I think, or may be many have noticed, if they are in reality, they do have some characteristics that may lead them to be isolated. Kodaka Hasegawa, looks like thug, but what his real problem to not able to have friend is he is a half. In japan, it looks like you would have to have really tough time when you are kid if you have mixed race. I presume Sena Kashiwazaki has a same issue. In that aspect, when I heard she said, "Why should I be forced to learn bunch of mongrel's names?" It brings me a bit more complex thinking.

Yozora Mikazuki has a most typical characteristics that should made her isolated. But I think since her case is a really typical so many readers would actually have a sympathy to her most among the other characters. And Kusunoki Yukimura, who really is a transgendered, and so forth.
I'd be really happy if I can read original light novel, if it translated to English. But it looks difficult since the story has too much subtle knowledge that makes a sense only in Japan.
