When Marnie Was There

Of cource I took the book because it was made into the movie so I want check it in original novel beforehand. I haven't watched the movie yet. Thus, I can read this book in rather fresh perspective, and that succeed.

The novel was really good. In the begging of the book, I felt it look alike Totto-chan by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, so I doubted I could finish this book. After all, it was the book for children (and I couldn't finish Totto-chan in the end). But its story structure that is basically a mystery whouldn't bored me to the end.

Luckily, I can finish the book within these Golden Week Holidays.
And now, I'm glad that I've finished the book before English dubbed version of the Ghibli's movie released. Presuming how the movie recreated the setting of the story in Norfork into Hokkaido, like, could they ever insert wuntermenny into the movie? is also a much fun.

And I also knew some sentences that I thought those were rather new use of words, such like "I knew that for ages!" or "It is super!" were actually used before a half century ago. Compared to Japanese literature, western book's style of writing or conversation style is more stable than I thought.
