英訳漫画もそうだけど、英語の小説を読むにしても日本語→英訳本のほうが内容や使用している単語の難しさとかに関係なくすんなり頭に入ってきて読みやすい。カルチャーギャップはかくも言語理解の妨げになるかとここ一年で実感した次第。カルチャーというか、使われることわざとかイディオムの問題なのか。

小説は、内容をごく簡単に言えば２人のマザコンが結ばれるという話だけれども、驚いたのは読後の最終ページに訳者から(?)読者への質問コーナーみたいなのがついていて、「つらいときには神頼みって考え、どう思う？」みたいな意見を求める問いが９つほど書かれている。これは、日本文学の教材か何かに使う目的なんだろうか？

途中にFULLMETALの27巻とかBAKUMAN.の12巻とか挟んだのでその分遅れているが、180ページの小説読むのに１ヶ月。まだちょっと読むのが遅い。

Think, is also applied to English translated manga, it's more easy to me reading English translated japanese novels, than native English one, whatever they uses difficult word or has comprecated story. I realized that, in this year, how the cultural gap prevent me to understand foreign language. Or is it rather a mere knowledge probrem of idioms of mine?

The novel is, to say in short, it is a story about two who have a mother complex. However, It bit astonished me when I saw nine questions are on the last pages, after story ended, like "what do you think about begging godness when you're facing some dificulty?". Perhaps the book is used as text for Japanese literature classes?

I spend nearly a month to finish this 180 pages noval. It's too slow to read to me yet.
